Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Michael Hammes as director of food and beverage.
In his role, Hammes is responsible for oversight of all of the food and beverage offerings within the resort including Hill Country Dining Room, 8212 Wine Bar & Grill and Bartons Lounge.
Hammes joins Omni Hotels & Resorts from the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center near Houston, where he served as the property’s director of food and beverage. He has an extensive history in restaurant management where he served in leadership roles for Dean & Deluca and Landry’s as well as resort management where he led food and beverage operations for Vail Resorts and Durango Mountain Resort in Colorado, American Ski Company (Mount Snow Vermont and Park City in Utah), and San Luis Resort & Convention Center in Galveston, Tex. He also has international management experience with Planet Hollywood, focusing on U.S., Australia and Africa franchises. Hammes graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor’s Degree in communications.
