RENO, Nev.
Buoyed by strong occupancy numbers in its first two years of operation, along with growing demand for increased meeting space in a nonsmoking, nongaming environment, the Whitney Peak Hotel completed a renovation project that has more than doubled the hotel’s meeting capacity.
“In the two years since we have opened, we have welcomed more than 100,000 guests to our unique property,” said Niki Gross, the hotel's managing director. “With our expansion last year—doubling the number of guest rooms to 310—we can better accommodate larger groups. Now we have the expansive meeting space to match, and we look forward to delivering a one-of-a-kind, world-class event experience.”
The renovation project, which encompasses the entire third floor of the hotel, created nearly 12,000 square feet of new event and meeting space. Ten air walls enable the space to be subdivided into eight separate areas, ranging from 350 square feet to a ballroom that is just under 5,000 square feet.
The hotel’s in-house artist produced rock-and-roll-themed paintings that will adorn the space and give it a hip yet ultra-luxe vibe, in keeping with the rest of the property. Roundabout Catering, which will operate the hotel’s restaurant as Roundabout Grill, will also provide catering support.
The expansion was officially unveiled in conjunction with the hotel’s second anniversary celebration July 7-10.
