Boise Centre is expanding to better accommodate larger conventions and tradeshows. The facility, which currently has 50,000 square feet of space, is adding more than 40,000 square feet of additional space.
Phase I of the expansion was completed in September 2016, adding eight new flexible meeting rooms, a 14,000-square-foot divisible ballroom and more than 4,000 square feet of column-free prefunction space overlooking the city’s focal point, The Grove Plaza. All spaces are fully carpeted and feature a modern and contemporary design that is customizable to suit the needs of any group.
A connectivity concourse and two new meeting spaces are included in the next phase of the expansion project. Upon completion of construction, Boise Centre will feature more than 90,000 square feet of interconnected meeting and event space. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2017.
The Grove Plaza, the civic plaza and local landmark surrounding Boise Centre, is also under renovation. The updates include an interactive and playful fountain, shade trees, seating and a sound system. Completion is slated for March 2017. A number of events, including free summer concerts and a farmers market, are held weekly at The Grove Plaza.
