San Jose Marriott Sold for $154 Million

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The San Jose Marriott has been sold to Carey Watermark Investors 2 Incorporated for $154 million. Carey Watermark Investors 2 Incorporated is a non-traded REIT focused on investing in lodging properties.

The 27-story hotel was built in 2004 and completed renovations in 2014 on its guest rooms, lobby and public spaces. The property features 510 guest rooms and 23,000 square feet of meeting space.

The hotel is located in downtown with a direct connection to the newly renovated and expanded San Jose McEnery Convention Center. The hotel is also in close proximity to San Jose State University and attractions such as the Tech Museum of Innovation, the San Jose Museum of Modern Art and the SAP Center, home of the NHL's San Jose Sharks. The region's primary airport, the San Jose Mineta International Airport, is located just 3 miles away. The development of Levi's Stadium, which is home to the San Francisco 49ers and the proposed expansion of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) are expected to further increase the hotel's desirability.

The San Jose Marriott offers three F&B outlets, a concierge lounge and outdoor swimming pool. The hotel’s function space includes 21 meeting rooms and a 9,000-square-foot ballroom for up to 900 guests.
