AUSTIN, Texas
Hyatt Regency Austin, located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, completed a $37 million renovation to its 448 guest rooms and 33,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel will now embark on the final stage of the renovation by updating the design of its lobby.
“We have seen a remarkable transformation to the hotel with the renovated guest rooms and meetings spaces, and look forward to implementing the finishing touches with updates to the lobby,” said Michael Murphy, general manager of Hyatt Regency Austin. “As Austin continues to grow and become a major entertainment, business, tech, and travel hub, we are very excited to embark on a new era.”
The hotel completed a $15 million renovation to its 448 guest rooms. The renovated rooms aim to create an urban oasis with music-inspired decor including music-themed artwork. The rooms feature dozens of amenities including brand new 55-inch HDTVs, ergonomic work stations, complimentary Wi-Fi, skyline and lakefront views, king and double queen grand beds, deluxe baths and more.
Hyatt Regency Austin also updated and expanded its meeting spaces with a $22 million renovation. The expansion included the addition of the 14,000-square-foot Zilker Ballroom. The new ballroom features a dramatic, two-story atrium, stunning chandeliers, a covered outdoor balcony and more.
With the expansion, the hotel now features more than 33,000 square-feet of meeting space complimented by more than 15,000 square-feet of pre-function space.
Hyatt Regency Austin provides guests with access to music, entertainment and attractions in downtown Austin including South Congress Avenue, 6th Street, Zilker Park and Auditorium Shores. It is situated just steps away from Congress Avenue Bridge, which houses the nation’s largest urban bat colony.
The hotel is also located directly on the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail. Guests can walk or bike on the path, or take part in several water activities available on the lake including scenic boat tours.
