Grand Wayne CC Upgrades Wi-Fi

FORT WAYNE, Ind.

The Grand Wayne Convention Center, located in downtown Fort Wayne, Ind., announced the completion of its fully renovated wireless system with high-density Wi-Fi technology. The new system is the result of a collaboration between Grand Wayne and Samsung to provide free, reliable connection capability for more than 5,000 guests simultaneously. The new solution is said to incorporate advanced Wi-Fi capacity to provide thousands of users with free, uninterrupted, high-demand service.

“The majority of our biggest conventions are repeat customers going back nearly 30 years,” states Rick Browning, technical director for Grand Wayne Convention Center. “We needed to address our technology limitation, so we created a customized solution to accommodate [need].”

Additionally, the new installation is said to respect Grand Wayne’s contemporary interiors, creating an undetectable but functional network. Custom named SSIDs, special VLAN configurations, guest-provided servers, Wi-Fi printers and VOIP phones can be accommodated for an additional fee.

The Grand Wayne Convention Center offers 225,000 square feet of event space.
