XI’AN, China
Hyatt Regency Xi’an opened in the capital city of Shaanxi province in northwest China. The hotel features 298 guest rooms, many with private balconies with views of Qujiang Lake.
“As the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and a strategic hub for the contemporary Belt and Road initiative, Xi’an is one of the most visited leisure and business destinations in northwest China,” said Hyatt’s vice president and managing director of operations for China. “We are thrilled to welcome back the Hyatt Regency brand to this historic city, further reinforcing Hyatt’s commitment to growing its [global] presence."
Hyatt Regency Xi’an is conveniently located in Qujiang District and is home to the Eight Great Sights of Chang’an, a collection of scenic areas near Qujiang Lake. A 45-minute drive to Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, Hyatt Regency Xi’an provides convenient access to both the Xi’an Convention Center and world-renowned tourist sites like Wild Goose Pagoda and the Terracotta Warriors.
Inspired by Xi’an’s history, the hotel honors the Tang Dynasty by connecting the old city to the new city through design. The entry features pitched ceilings and a front entrance illuminated by a sea of torches. Sculptures and art displays can be seen throughout updating the traditional with modern interpretations of icons like Chinese lanterns, paper cuttings and official seals, while subtler details play on symbols of prosperity.
“Xi’an has long held a special place in the heart of Chinese civilization. As a native of Xi’an, it is my honor to welcome back new and former guests. This hotel allows them to truly experience the very best of our city and its incredible culture,” said General Manager Z. Du.
The hotel’s food and beverage options include The Lounge, with light bites and drinks, Hu Pan, offering authentic Chinese fare with a focus on northern signatures, and Market Café, an all-day dining restaurant.
The hotel features more than 43,000 square feet of pillar-less, naturally lit event space, including a 13,100-square-foot ballroom, a 4,600-square-foot ballroom and a pavilion.
