Steve Haley

DENVER

Steve Haley is the new managing director of The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa.

He began his hotel career with Quorum Hotels and Resorts in 1988 as the director of sales and marketing for The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa and after 28 years in the hospitality business, working in hotels from Tampa to Texas, he is returning. He replaces Marcel Pitton, who retired in June after 40 years in the hotel industry.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to the hotel where my career started and to have the honor of guiding one of the most luxurious and historic hotels in America,” Haley said.

After his stint with The Brown, he worked with the Embassy Suites Hotel at the Denver Tech Center in 1993, and then moved to Tampa where as general manager he successfully transformed the Crown Plaza Hotel into the Quorum Hotel, an independent and distinctive business resort that was voted “Best Hotel in Tampa” by TripAdvisor.

In 2008, he became general manager of the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas, elevating the property to be named the “Business of the Year” in 2015 by the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the 2015 “Hotel of the Year” by the Tarrant County Hotel Association. Out of the more than 300 Hilton hotel general managers in North America, he was one of only 10 to be given a seat in the inaugural Hilton Executive Roundtable.

Haley has been extremely active in the hospitality community, serving as chairman of the Board of Directors for the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Hotel Association of Tarrant County, past president of the Hotel Association of Tampa Bay and a member of the board of directors of the Tampa Convention & Visitors Bureau. He is a graduate of Florida State University with a bachelor of science, hotel restaurant administration and received his CHA in 1997.

“I am amazed by the changes that have taken place in Denver since 1993, and very excited to be back in my favorite city. I look forward to becoming involved in the community and continuing to offer the high level of service that has made The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa one of the most respected hotel names in the world,” Haley said.

The hotel features six restaurants, a spa and 20,000 square feet of meeting space in downtown Denver.
