DoubleTree Unveils South Beach Hotel

MIAMI BEACH

DoubleTree by Hilton debuted The Gates Hotel South Beach–a DoubleTree by Hilton, a completely reconstructed property with 235 guest rooms.

“Travelers expect glamour and style when visiting South Beach, and The Gates Hotel South Beach–a DoubleTree by Hilton delivers a sophisticated yet relaxing experience reflective of its colorful surroundings,” said Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “Beginning with a warm chocolate chip cookie welcome upon arrival, guests will be treated to the world-class service and comforts our brand is known for throughout their stay.”

The new hotel offers guests an authentic and unconventional resort-style setting, just across the street from the Atlantic Ocean and within walking distance to Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road and the area’s restaurants, nightlife, entertainment and shopping.

Built on the foundation of the 1954 Ankara Motel, The Gates Hotel South Beach maintains the historic, Art Deco-inspired architecture on the exterior, while the reconstructed interior features contemporary elements. Components of the hotel that have retained their original form include the classic brick walls of the historic wing and refurbished Ankara Motel signage.

Each of the guest rooms, including 17 suites, is designed with a vibrant color scheme and features oversized windows, while some guest rooms include balconies.

The hotel’s lobby area has a bar that seamlessly transitions to the outside pool, where guests will find private daybeds between the pool and lake, all under a canopy of strawberry guava trees. Solar-powered charging stations are also available outside. Other onsite features include free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, 24-hour business center, 24-hour state-of-the-art-fitness center, courtesy transportation to and from the beach, beach chairs and towels, and guest bicycles.

There are three meeting rooms, including the nearly 1,800-square-foot Tactic Room.

Guests can dine on-property at The Continental, which is adjacent to the hotel. The restaurant features a menu of global dishes, many designed to share, amidst a modern dining room and lush tropical patio. Also a great spot to grab a drink, the bar has a flat-screen television and offers a creative cocktail list with a focus on curated spirits, fresh ingredients and tiki-inspired recipes.
