Nantucket Hotel Debuts Event Space

NANTUCKET, Mass.

Nantucket’s White Elephant Village recently launched its new 4,200-square-foot Ballroom & Conference Center. The Center comprises a ballroom and boardroom and can accommodate six to 300 guests.

“We see the opening of the new space as a positive sign that the demand for events on Nantucket continues to grow,” said Khaled Hashem, managing director of Nantucket Island Resorts.

Located on South Beach Street and within walking distance to town, the space is a part of the award-winning, Nantucket Island Resorts portfolio, whose properties continue to receive honors. Previously a housing quarters for sailors in the 1940s, Massachusetts-based, Signature Architects Inc. and Group One, transformed the space into a multi-purpose ballroom and boardroom.

The design features a palate of warm neutral colors and oversized windows to allow natural sunlight to illuminate the space. Quintessential Nantucket wainscoting detail, traditional coffered ceiling, polished oak floors and grand wooden chandeliers also adorn the rooms.

The ballroom is ideal as a singular space for large events or weddings and can host up to 300 guests. It can also be divided into two medium-sized meeting or event rooms—and can accommodate 22 to 300 people depending on the configuration and the event. Adjacent to the ballroom is the boardroom, which offers seating for up to 22 people. Catering will be provided by the White Elephant’s Brant Point Grill, famous on the island for steak and seafood as well as locally-sourced produce. Brant Point Grill also features a 400-bottle wine list and was recently named to Wine Spectator’s annual “2016 Restaurant Wine Awards.” Guests staying with the White Elephant Village will have access to the hotel’s heated pool, cabanas and fitness center as well as Nantucket Island Resort’s pre-arrival concierge to assist with planning their visit to the island.
