Guinness World Records Enters Events Market

Guinness World Records (GWR), the global authority on record-breaking, recently launched GWR Live!—“the ultimate, customized live record-breaking experience”—in the U.S. during All Access Labs’ Brick Fest Live, in Richmond, Va. GWR Live! will be present at another upcoming event in Philadelphia.

GWR Live! offers an interactive and family-friendly experience to a variety of passing audiences by allowing attendees to practice, attempt and potentially set or break Guinness World Records titles in real time. This product also acts as a customizable entertainment solution where clients can choose from a menu of record challenges or additional services to add engaging elements to their event.

The GWR Live! set-up includes stations featuring Guinness World Record coaches, who lend expert advice and encouragement to visitors interested in an engaging experience all while attempting to set a Guinness World Records title. Top performing individuals are then invited back at designated times for an official Guinness World Records attempt, where they can walk away with an official GWR title.

Brick Fest Live!, a LEGO fan festival, featured GWR Live! at their Richmond, Va., event in September. Guinness World Records designed four records specifically for the event: Fastest time to build a 6 level LEGO pyramid (team of 2), Fastest time to stack 20 large LEGO bricks, Fastest time to build 3 LEGO minifigures, and Most LEGOs taken off the baseplate and held in the hand in 30 seconds.

“The launch of GWR Live! at Brick Fest Live! was a tremendous opportunity to kick-off and offer customized Guinness World Records experiences at US-based events and venues,” said Peter Harper, senior VP of Americas at Guinness World Records. “We’re already working with mall properties, sports teams, brands and many other types of businesses who are interested in incorporating GWR Live! and the beloved Guinness World Records brand to help entertain their fans, customers or employees.”

Following the success at Brick Fest Live!, Guinness World Records will again partner with All Access Labs to bring GWR Live! to Minefaire, a Minecraft fan experience, which is set for Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa.

Initially launched in the UK last year, GWR Live! has made itself a notable presence internationally in nearly 20 venues and 30 event days in 2016 alone. Attendees of GWR Live! have broken/set nearly 30 record titles in the UK, and additionally in Russia, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan.
