Ingredients
5 oz. butter, unsalted
4 oz. chocolate stout beer
6 oz. soft, pitted prunes, chopped
3.5 oz. Hershey’s Semi-Sweet
Chocolate Chips
6.5 oz. all-purpose flour
¼ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
2 ea. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
8 oz. dark brown sugar
Directions
- Bring beer to a boil; add chocolate and butter, stir until melted.
- Add prunes to above and remove from heat. Allow to set for 10 minutes.
- Sift the flour, baking soda and salt into a bowl.
- Whisk eggs, vanilla and brown sugar until it lightens in color.
- Fold in the chocolate mixture to the eggs.
- Add the dry ingredients, fold until combined.
- Add to a buttered and sugared 8-inch cake pan.
- Bake for approx. 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
