The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village announced the appointment of Will Cornwall as group sales manager.
In his new role, Cornwall will work alongside the director of sales and marketing to maximize revenue by driving group bookings to the resort.
“With more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and a Southwest Florida native, Cornwall is a strategic addition to our sales team as we expand our meetings and events capabilities with the addition of a 35,000-square-foot conference center opening early 2018,” said Michele Frank, director of sales and marketing, The Westin Cape Coral. “His excellent leadership and proven track record of success will further propel the resort as the leading hotel in the market for meetings and events.”
Most recently, Cornwall served as an association sales manager for the Sheraton Pentagon City in Washington, D.C., and director of national accounts for the Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Fla. Prior experience includes serving as senior sales manager and associate director of catering & convention services at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Fla., associate director of catering & convention services and catering & convention services manager at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, director of convention services floor operations at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta and banquet manager and convention services floor manager at the Hyatt Regency Tampa.
A graduate of Simpson College, Cornwall has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management with minors in marketing and human resources. Cornwall grew up in Naples, Fla. and resides in Fort Myers with his wife and two children.
The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, the Caloosahatchee River and San Carlos Bay. The updated resort features 263 guest room and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space.
