There are a number of different industry lists ranking the best conference cities in America, but a recent list released by SmartAsset is interesting in that the company's primary research falls outside the industry.
SmartAsset is a financial analysis company that works “to provide simple, easy to understand answers to complex financial questions,” according to a mission statement posted on its website. It published the following list of “the Best Cities for Conferences in 2016” in the SmartReads section of its website.
Here are the U.S. cities that made the top 10:
- San Antonio
- El Paso, Texas
- San Diego
- Austin, Texas
- Irving, Texas
- Columbus, Ohio
- Orlando, Albuquerque, N.M. (tie)*
- Charlotte, N.C.
- Las Vegas
- Boise, Idaho
*Note that SmartAsset’s number rankings varied slightly due to the tie.
While the list seems to favor cities in Texas (the state took 4 out of 10 spots) and the methodology feels a little bit random, it’s still an interesting list. Check out the full report on the SmartAsset website.
