London Marriott Reopens After Update

LONDON

London Marriott Hotel County Hall reopened following the completion of a property-wide transformation. Set on London’s South Bank, County Hall offers guests a panoramic view of London, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the River Thames and the London Eye.

“Marriott Hotels has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in travel to create experiences that inspire and push our guests’ creativity,” said Matthew Carroll, vice president, Marriott Hotels. “London Marriott County Hall is the perfect combination of historic charm and intuitive design.”

Set at the foot of Westminster Bridge, the 206-room London Marriott County Hall makes the most of its heritage and premier location in the heart of London.

Led by RPW Design, the hotel’s refreshed interiors combine contemporary hotel design and functionality with inspiration from the heritage and elegance of the building. All suites include upgraded bathroom facilities, entrances with tiled mosaic flooring and bespoke wallpaper featuring a historic map of London from the era of the building’s infancy. Soft furnishings and subtle plays on iconic London landmarks are featured throughout.

“Our transformation perfectly captures the essence of great British style whilst also delivering an elevated and modern hotel experience,” said Govert Deketh, general manager, London Marriott Hotel County Hall. “That together with our building’s incredible history and our exceptional riverside views now places us as one of the most sought after properties in London.”

A destination in itself, the hotel offers a unique experience with facilities that include a health club with the largest hotel pool in London, fine British dining at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar, the Noes Lobby Champagne bar, the Leader’s Bar & outside terrace and afternoon tea in the Library Lounge.

There is also a new Executive Lounge with riverside views and complimentary amenities. The property features 10 event and meeting rooms totaling 5,000 square feet and the option to book private dining events.

In September, Marriott Hotels announced its partnership with TED to bring creatively curated TED Talks to guests worldwide, enriching their travel experiences and motivating their own original, inventive thinking. As part of its celebrations, London Marriott Hotel County Hall hosted one of the five global TED Fellows salons series in early November. TED Fellows Cosmin Mihaiu and Lucy McRae engaged guests with thought-provoking and inspirational insight under the theme of entrepreneurship.
