Owen Chittenden

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla.

The Shores Resort & Spa promoted Owen Chittenden from senior catering sales manager to director of catering.

In this role, Chittenden’s responsibilities will expand to not only oversee the weddings, but also the catering division and conference services team.

“Owen’s industry knowledge, attention-to-detail and exceptional customer service has helped position our resort’s catering amenities as the best in the area,” stated resort Interim General Manager Wayne Susser.

Prior to joining The Shores, Chittenden spent nearly 14 years with the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort, the last seven as senior catering manager. Prior to that, he was at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, Mass. servicing high-profile clients, such as General Electric, KB Toys, Laruen Publishing, to name just a few.

Chittenden served on numerous non-profit local committees and boards, and has received a number of accolades, including 40 Under 40, Private Sector Employee of the Year, ACPWC Professional Wedding Planner Award, Volusia County Food & Beverage Employee of the Year and Manager of the Quarter. Chittenden received his degree in Hotel Management from SUNY Cobleskill in 1998.

The 212-room resort offers more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, including oceanside executive boardrooms, a private beachfront terrace, a grand ballroom and sky-level meeting space with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.
