El San Juan Hotel announced Timothy Arnold as managing director of food and beverage.
In his new role, Arnold will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s food and beverage operations including the resort’s nine award-winning restaurants, 15 bars and in-room dining programming.
“Throughout his career, Arnold has established himself as an exemplary leader, not just managerially and operationally, but also strategically.” said Stefan Huber, managing director of El San Juan Hotel. “He has a proven and impressive record of success in growing business and revenue. Prior to joining the El San Juan Hotel, Arnold served in various roles launching and growing luxury hospitality operations, including director of food and beverage at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, home to eight restaurants and bars in Hollywood Beach, Fla. Previously, Arnold managed all aspects of food and beverage operations at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, as well as at China Grill Management, where he was responsible for overseeing all China Grill and Mondrian Hotel operations and future development projects in South Florida. Arnold drew on his previous experience at Canyon Ranch where he opened their $650 million wellness living community and all-suite hotel in Miami Beach.
“Puerto Rico has a vibrant culinary scene that I am looking forward to being a part of,” said Timothy Arnold. “While the El San Juan Hotel has always been a celebrated cultural staple in Puerto Rico, the new projects we are developing will reinvigorate the Isla Verde food and entertainment scene, taking it to new heights.”
Arnold received a Business Administration degree at both Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis, and the University of New Orleans.
The El San Juan Hotel is undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation, expected to be complete in early 2017. The 387-room property features an 11,000-square-foot grand ballroom space, four pools, a 7,500-square-foot casino and 12 acres on Isla Verde Beach.
