Peter Simoncelli

CHICAGO, Ill.

The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago announced the appointment of Peter Simoncelli to general manager.

A hospitality veteran of over 30 years with deep-seated roots in Chicago, Simoncelli has vast experience in the luxury hotel space and will be instrumental in leading the team and continuing with the success that the hotel has experienced for the past four decades.

“Peter is a recognized leader in the hospitality industry and the Chicago market who brings a wealth of knowledge in revenue growth across high-end properties around the country,” said Jill Torke, director of sales and marketing. “He is an engaged leader who constantly strives to maintain high standards and improve service culture with an eye for detail and passion for networking. We are thrilled to welcome him to our team.”

Over the course of his career, Simoncelli served 14 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, including his post as director of food and beverage then executive assistant general manager at the Chicago property. For the last 15 years, Simoncelli has been in Chicago where he served as a general manager for Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago and Westin Chicago River North.

Simoncelli graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from Illinois College. Among his accomplishments are sitting on the board of directors for the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association, serving as Illinois Hotel and Lodging Ambassador of Hospitality 2013, the Magnificent Mile Association as chairman of the board, the Development Board of St. Francis High School, and the Westin Hotels and Resorts GM Advisory Council.

The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago features 434 guest rooms, including 90 suites. The property recently unveiled the first phase of enhancements including a new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge and fitness center with motivational city views. A new experience is coming with the final phase of updates in 2017 featuring reinvigorated, modernized spaces that will blend the charm of the Water Tower Place with the rich history and architecture of the city.
