Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 19. Located in the former Waikiki Trade Center, the 230-room hotel is the first Hyatt Centric-branded property in the state of Hawaii.
“We are thrilled to open doors as an anchor of Kuhio Avenue’s renaissance,” says Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach General Manager Charles Young. “Our team has worked tirelessly to transform the historic building into a platform for guests to explore and discover the best of Waikiki’s urban setting.”
Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach offers a modern guest room design, including floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the ocean and Diamond Head, spa-like bathrooms and spacious floorplans.
In partnership with Make-A-Wish Hawaii, the hotel’s grand opening celebration kicked off with the state’s first Walk For Wishes fundraiser. At the walk event, key stakeholders, community members and Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach colleagues come together to raise funds to grant wishes to local children.
Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach (2255 Kuhio Avenue—entrance between Kalakaua and Kuhio on Seaside) is the 12th hotel in the Hyatt Centric brand’s portfolio, joining hotels in North America and Latin America destinations including New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Key West, Montevideo and Uruguay.
