Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza unveiled its transformation, which includes a new look for its guest rooms and expanded meeting space. The 295 rooms were upgraded with the brand’s new design, but also feature elements and decor that reflect local Kansas City architecture and museums. In addition, the bathtubs have been replaced with walk-in showers and new lighting gives the bathrooms a spa-like feel.
“Inspired by a new generation of travelers, our transformed hotel blends style and function that provides guests with the space to explore and expand their creativity,” said General Manager Brett Ellison. “Creative in approach and innovative in design, we are excited to welcome guests to the elevated experience at the new Country Club Plaza.”
The meeting and event space was expanded to now offer more than 18,000 square feet; 2,300 square feet were added for the new Plaza Terrace and an event room adjacent to the Hyde Park conference spaces. Overall, the property offers 18 meeting rooms, nine breakout rooms and a 5,600-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate 600 guests.
Other renovations include a new arrival experience, the transformation of the lobby into the brand’s Greatroom and a refreshed Concierge Lounge. The Greatroom lobby is now a space guests can use to relax, meet and socialize, especially with the new M.I. Greatroom serving as the lobby lounge in the evening. Along with the renovation, the hotel now offers the option to check in and check out on mobile devices.
Country Club Plaza is a 15-block district with over 150 shops and dozens of restaurants.
