The Wigwam named Martin Greenwood vice president, managing director and general manager.
A veteran in the hospitality industry with a track record of increasing revenue and profitability in management roles, Greenwood will be responsible for running the historic resort and overseeing its day-to-day operations.
Greenwood brings two decades of hospitality management and leadership experience to the AAA Four-Diamond resort. Most recently, he served as general manager at Riviera Palm Springs, a Tribute Portfolio Resort in Palm Springs, Calif. Previously, Greenwood was based in Texas, having risen from director of food and beverage to vice president and general manager for many prestigious hotels and resorts.
“I am extremely excited to join The Wigwam,” said Greenwood. “I so much enjoy the historic quality of the resort that goes back to Arizona’s ranching business as well as the sense of family that the property encompasses. The Wigwam is the ideal Southwest destination and I am honored with the opportunity to oversee this exceptional resort.”
Greenwood studied business management at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
The Wigwam features 331 guest rooms including 70 suites and two presidential suites. Amenities include three pools, three dining experiences, three 18-hole championship golf courses, nine lighted tennis courts, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa and 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
