Leon Goldberg

The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel welcomed Leon Goldberg to the team, with his recent promotion to complex director of sales and marketing for both the Sheraton New York Times Square and the New York Marriott Marquis.

Goldberg brings more than 25 years of industry experience and has been the director of sales and marketing at the New York Marriott Marquis for 10 years.

In his new role, Goldberg will develop and lead sales and marketing strategy for both the New York Marriott Marquis and the Sheraton New York Times Square hotels.

Goldberg’s extensive hospitality career began on the west coast as a sales manager at The Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, followed by his position as director of convention sales at the Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau. He then moved to the east coast to the Waldorf=Astoria hotel as a member of the sales team and later was promoted to director of sales for groups and conventions.

His New York experience also includes his service as director of sales & marketing for the (former) RIHGA Royal, a JW Marriott Hotel and all-suite luxury property. He then moved to San Francisco, where he served as director of sales & marketing at the San Francisco Marriott, before returning to New York City.

During his 25-year career in hospitality, Goldberg has received many Marriott International awards, including Sales and Marketing Leader of the Year, Sales Team of the Year and Presidents Circle Award (multiple times). He was also named Marketer of the Year 2013 by the New York Chapter of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.

Goldberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Management from the University of Massachusetts and a diploma in Hotel Management from Hotelconsult in Brig, Switzerland.

Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel features 1,780 newly renovated guest rooms, Lobby Lounge and Link Café, a full fitness facility, the casual Hudson Market restaurant, and Club Lounge with panoramic views of Manhattan. The hotel offers 60,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Metropolitan Ballroom and the Executive Conference Center.

The 49-story New York Marriott Marquis is one of the largest Marriott hotels in the world. This hotel, which opened in 1985, features a 37-story atrium with 12 glass-enclosed smart elevators, 1,966 guest rooms and over 100,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space.
