Benchmark named Juan R. Vicioso, Jr., director of sales & marketing for The Heldrich, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property.

Vicioso brings 20 years of hospitality experience with a focus on sales and marketing. For the past 12 years he has been a sales leader with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, concentrating on the New York City market, including serving as director of catering and convention services for the W New York and associate director of catering for the Westin Times Square.
While with Starwood, Vicioso received five Top Sales Incentive Awards and with his team won the Starwood Sales Team of the Year for both 2006 and 2014. Earlier in his hospitality career, Vicioso worked in sales leadership positions for properties in Washington, D.C. He launched his career at New York’s Waldorf Astoria.
Vicioso is a second generation hotelier, as his father worked with such legendary properties as New York’s Essex House and the Plaza Hotel, as well as the Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Vicioso is a graduate of the University of Southern New Hampshire where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
The Heldrich Hotel is located in the cultural heart of New Jersey in New Brunswick. The property is situated at 10 Livingston Avenue across from the city’s famed Theatre Row, just west of important US Route 1 and four blocks from the New Brunswick Train Station (serving the Northeast Corridor: Boston-New York-Philadelphia-Washington, DC) and close to Exit 9 of the NJ Turnpike. It is 45 minutes outside New York City and has rail service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
The Heldrich features a 248 guest rooms, Christopher’s Restaurant, Christopher’s Bar and 25,000 square feet of meeting space. The IACC-certified conference center includes 30 meeting rooms, a 7,400-square-foot ballroom, three executive board rooms and an amphitheater with classroom seating.
