Hi-Lo Hotel Launches in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore.

Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International's collection of independent hotels, announced its brand debut in Oregon with the opening of Hi-Lo Hotel. The hotel is situated in the historic Oregon Pioneer Building—originally named The Railway Express Building—in downtown Portland. Built in 1910, the building was the city's iconic first concrete building, which became known as Project Cinderella when it was revived in 1962, serving as a catalyst to restore historic buildings in downtown.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hi-Lo Hotel to Autograph Collection Hotels' dynamic portfolio as the brand's first hotel in Oregon," said Julius Robinson, vice president and global brand lead, Autograph Collection Hotels. "With its rich history and authentic, compelling design concept, we believe the hotel is poised to deliver standout, exactly like nothing else experiences for both global travelers and locals.”

The 120-room Hi-Lo Hotel was designed by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates, Arris Studio Architects, and Portland-based groups OMFGC and Jessica Helgerson Interior Design. The hotel invites guests to engage in elevated style true to the Pacific Northwest that mixes the “high” and the “low.”

Locals and travelers may wander into Hi-Lo Hotel for a hand-crafted cocktail at the Lo Bar or dine at the hotel's esteemed restaurant, Alto-Bajo. The restaurant will serve modern Mexican in an upscale setting.

Hi-Lo Hotel also caters to business travelers with ample meeting space, state-of-the-art technology and forward-thinking business solutions. Guests will also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, mobile check-in, in-room entertainment systems outfitted with Netflix and a variety of apps, daily newspaper delivery, and a 24-hour fitness center. Additionally, the hotel will welcome four-legged travelers with amenities.

A dynamic and culturally-rich destination, the city of Portland offers an abundance of natural trails and rose gardens for hiking and exploring, vibrant local art exhibits and a lively local food scene.
