Sheraton Bay Point Resort and its operator, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, announced the appointment of Jean Capps as the new general manager.
From the early days of her hospitality career as a director of sales and marketing to the past decade of general manager experience and successes within impressive Florida resorts, Capps brings incredible expertise and vibrancy to the iconic Sheraton Bay Point Resort.
“After an extensive nationwide search, we determined Jean Capps as the ideal fit for our re-imagined resort,” said Michael George, president and chief executive officer, Crescent Hotels & Resorts. “Jean brings the perfect mix of valuable full-service, Florida resort leadership, coupled with her creative approach to creating top-notch guest experience at her properties, making her the perfect choice to lead the helm at Sheraton Bay Point Resort.”
After gaining valuable experience in sales, food and beverage, and operations, Capps served as general manager for more than eight years at Florida-based resorts – B Ocean inFt. Lauderdale, Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel, Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek and Sheraton Suites Plantation.
A vast industry and brand award recipient, Capps was most recently recognized by Performance Hospitality with the 2016 People’s Choice Award for Most Inspiring. An active tourism industry volunteer, Capps volunteered her professional time on boards including the Beach Improvement District, the Beach Council, the GFLCVB Marketing Advisory Committee and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.
