Lucy Martin

MIAMI BEACH, Fla.

The Celino South Beach appointed Lucy Martin as general manager.

Martin will be at the helm of the launch of this boutique lifestyle hotel, located on Miami’s famed Ocean Drive and deemed one of the largest developments that the iconic street has ever seen. She will oversee its 132 guest rooms, rooftop and pool amenities well as immersive, lively programming to ensure that this energetic hotel is a game changer in South Beach when it opens this fall.

“Lucy is a true industry leader and expert, whose talents and experience we trust to effectively lead the dynamic team and operations of The Celino South Beach,” said Jeff Toscano, senior vice president of Lifestyle Hotels at Highgate. “We are thrilled to welcome Lucy into the Highgate family and are looking forward to seeing her success as she leads this new, highly-anticipated project.”

Martin immediately assumes the position of general manager and has already stepped into the role of overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s operations as well as curating the identity of the hotel through design, fashion, art, and wellness collaborations and partnerships.

“Miami Beach continues to attract guests from near and far,” said Martin. “Between the increase in tourism, warm climate, renovations to the convention center and abundance of cultural institutions, Ocean Drive is the ideal location to develop a project the size and caliber of The Celino South Beach. I am honored to take on the challenge of ensuring its success and being part of the reimagining of Ocean Drive, South Beach’s most vibrant strip known around the world.”

Most recently, Martin was the general manager at Shore Club in South Beach and part of the pre-opening leadership team for 1 Hotel South Beach. A native of Manchester, England, Martin’s tenure with Morgans Hotel Group allowed her to hold various executive positions at London, Scottsdale and Miami properties.

The Celino South Beach is currently undergoing an expansive, $40 million redevelopment that will merge the historic Park Central Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Heathcote Apartments and a new, modern, five-story atrium building to establish itself as the newest anchor of South Beach.

Slated for a fall 2017 opening, the hotel will unveil a new standard of luxury and resurface the 1940s convivial, tropical class of the iconic street with a fiery, fashionable personality enveloped in vibrant beats. The property will feature 132 guest rooms and suites; three restaurants and bars featuring lively entertainment, headed by Charles Khabouth of ICONINK; two pools: a courtyard-level pool and a rooftop glass-bottom pool and deck; 6,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space; as well as thoughtful amenities, including in-room spa services and a bike rental program.
