RENO, Nev.
The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) announced the hiring of Jennifer Powers, director of customer satisfaction and convention services.
Powers is responsible for leading the organization’s renewed effort to exceed the needs and expectations of meeting, convention, sporting group, and tradeshow clients, utilizing RSCVA facilities: the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center and the National Bowling Stadium.
With 27 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Powers has spent more than 17 years directing sales, services and operations related to northern Nevada’s meetings and conventions business. Most recently, she was the director of catering & convention services for the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, where she concentrated on providing first-class planning and service amenities to a wide range of clientele.
“Bringing in new business is very important to the future of Reno Tahoe,” said RSCVA Vice President of Sales Mike Larragueta. “But just as important is retaining our current clients and ensuring that we’re nurturing future partnerships as well. Jennifer has extensive experience in customer relations, and I’m excited she’s here to help us define this new role within the organization.”
