ORLANDO
Based on the latest forecasts for Hurricane Irma that placed Orlando in range of the storm and keeping safety top of mind, Walt Disney World Resort announced it would be closed on Sunday, Sept. 10 and Monday, Sept. 11.
Disney resort hotels will remain open throughout, though services and amenities will be adjusted. The properties plan to resume normal operations on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Regular updates will be provided to guests on all operational changes. Please continue to check here for updates and for more detailed information.
Universal Orlando Resort also closed due to Hurricane Irma. The destination closed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. The resort will stay closed on Sunday and Monday and it anticipates normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 12. On-site hotels are at capacity and remain operational. To ensure the safety of guests, ambassadors and animals during Hurricane Irma, SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island Tampa Bay announced the following:
SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay planned to close by 5 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, Sept. 9, pending further updates. Both parks will remained closed on Sunday, Sept. 10 and Monday, Sept. 11. Aquatica Orlando and Adventure Island closed on Saturday, Sept. 9, and will remain closed through Monday, Sept. 11. Discovery Cove closed on Sunday, Sept. 10 and will remain closed on Monday, Sept. 11.

UPDATE: According to USA Today, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and Seaworld Orlando dodged major Hurricane Irma damage and are on track to open Tuesday, Sept. 12. Central Florida did receive some damage.
