Salamander Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Christina Gibson as associate director of catering. Gibson will dive into her new role by managing the logistics and handling event details and simplifying the planning process.
With over a decade of expertise in the hospitality industry, Gibson brings a rich background in guest services, event planning and sales management. She held various positions at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in McLean, Va., and the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Va. She later served as catering and golf coordinator and more recently as the event sales manager at the nearby resort, Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Va.
Gibson’s time and immersion in the industry has molded her into a detail oriented professional with strong leadership qualities while her experiences in Northern Virginia have expanded her knowledge of the area’s demographics. She has developed a comprehensive understanding of what companies, guests and locals are looking for when hosting in Northern Virginia – easily exceeding their expectations.

Salamander Resort & Spa is a LEED Green Building Certified resort on 340 picturesque acres. Located only one hour from Washington, D.C. and just 35 minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, the resort is designed to respect the architectural traditions of Virginia’s countryside with 168 guest rooms. Meeting and event space includes the 4,500-square-foot Middleburg Ballroom that is divisible into three sections and can accommodate up to 340 for a dinner. For outdoor space, the Grand Lawn has capacity for 1,000 guests.
