NORTH BETHESDA, Md.
Canopy by Hilton Washington D.C., Bethesda North is now open within the mixed-use community of Pike & Rose, less than seven miles outside of the nation’s capital.
The property features 177 guest rooms, including 12 suites and 34 queen-queen rooms complete with nine-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows.
The interior design of Canopy by Hilton Washington D.C., Bethesda North was led by Mark Zeff, the firm that also collaborated with Hilton’s team to create Canopy’s interior design ethos at the inception of the brand.
This will be one of the first Mark Zeff-designed locations to open with distinctive interiors that fuse authentic materials, such as rough-hewn oak wood walls, concrete floors and locally/neighborhood inspired artwork, furnishings and accessories.
“We are thrilled to open our second North American property and third property worldwide, marking Canopy by Hilton Washington D.C., Bethesda North the first and only lifestyle hotel in the area,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “The North Bethesda neighborhood and Pike & Rose development epitomizes our locally-inspired brand and we’re delighted to extend an energizing, comfortable stay to guests."
The hotel offers complimentary breakfast with fresh local ingredients, evening local wine and craft beer tastings and welcome treats including local Honey Sticks from Maryland’s own Banner Bees upon arrival. The property will be home to The Canopy Central Café and Bar which will feature everything from artisanal breakfasts in the morning to small plates for dinner, all influenced by regional flavors.
In the evenings, guests can unwind with the latest local beers from innovative breweries including 7 Locks Brewing in Rockville, Jailbreak Brewing in Laurel and Waredaca Brewing in Damascus. Produce will be sourced from Maryland farms located within 50 miles of the hotel.
Adjacent to Canopy Central Bar and Café, travelers can enjoy refreshments on an idyllic outdoor rooftop terrace, Pike’s Perspective Terrace, which will offer energizing craft drinks all day with ingredients such as ginger and carrots along with a pour of Washington D.C.’s Rock Creek Bourbon crafted at One Eight Distilling – the first distiller in D.C. to create Bourbon since pre-prohibition.
The all-inclusive Pike & Rose neighborhood boasts an array of dining with 50 restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. The pedestrian-friendly area is rapidly becoming a popular urban entertainment destination. In the heart of the neighborhood, the hotel is accessible by pedestrian and bike-friendly walkways and will serve as a community gathering place for socialization and events.
The hotel is in close proximity to the Metro and Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). With 7,700 square feet of event space plus 1,100 square feet of prefunction space nestled into the third floor, both overlooking the neighborhood, the hotel can accommodate both smaller and larger groups with private and semi-private spaces – including Pike’s Perspective Outdoor Terrace. The fully equipped event space has the option for complete privacy for hosting lunches, extended work sessions, cocktail parties and smaller functions all with the ability to take in the fresh air flowing from the optional opened floor-to-ceiling glass doors accessing the Terrace.
