COLUMBUS, Ohio
Duane Gibson was named director, Washington, D.C. regional sales for Experience Columbus. In his role, Duane is responsible for all professional associations and corporations with more than 551 peak rooms in D.C. (excluding “A” accounts), Maryland and all government.
In total, Duane has over 20 years of experience in hospitality, both in hotel operations and sales management. He started his career in Atlanta, where he spent five years at the Swissôtel, and then relocated to Washington, D.C. in 2002 and started his 11-year tenure at the Hamilton Crown Plaza. He started as the front office and restaurant manager, quickly making the transition to catering sales.
Duane then held various sales roles with his primary focus being corporate and government. Prior to joining Experience Columbus, he was part of the Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City team, selling their three big-box properties with a total of 5,300 rooms and 233,000 square feet of meeting space.
Duane is an active member in the PCMA Capital Chapter and MPI Potomac Chapter, serving on the Community Service Committee and the Member Engagement Committee, respectively. In 2017, Duane was nominated for Supplier of Year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Morehouse College.
