As the east coast prepares for Hurricane Florence to make landfall, airlines have issued waivers for travelers ahead of the storm and cruise lines announced reroutes of some ships earlier this week.
The storm is forecasted to bring heavy winds of up to 130 miles an hour and flooding of up to 35 inches to North Carolina, South Carolina and parts of Georgia and Virginia.
American Airlines
American passengers traveling through airports in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia can rebook if the ticket was purchased before September 10 and if scheduled travel is on or before September 16.

Ticket holders can change the origin or destination to another city affected by this alert or these airports: Baltimore, Maryland (BWI); Washington Reagan, Washington, D.C. (DCA); Washington Dulles, Washington, D.C. (IAD). The change fee will be waived if rebooked in the same cabin.

Delta Air Lines
Delta passengers with travel to/from/through the cities listed here can change their itineraries without fees when rescheduled travel occurs beyond September 20.
Travelers booked on a Delta ticket through those cities affected on flights scheduled from September 11 to 16 can rebook for another Delta flight before September 20 free of charge, however, a difference in fare may apply.

JetBlue
Anyone traveling on a JetBlue flight between September 11 and September 16 to cities impacted by Hurricane Florence, including Baltimore, Charleston, Charlotte, Richmond and Savannah, can rebook flights for travel through September 20. Tickets would have to have been booked before September 10 for the waiver to apply.

Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is offering ticketed passengers no cost to rebooked flights for airports in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia, even if there is a difference in fare.

United Airlines
United Airlines passengers with a flight scheduled before September 16 at airports impacted by Hurricane Florence, including those in Columbia, Charlotte, Asheville, Norfolk, Richmond and Savannah, can rebook free of charge to a new United flight departing before September 20.
United is waiving fees, though it will apply differences in fare, for flights departing after September 20.
