BELLEVUE, Wash.
Visit Bellevue Washington announced the appointment of Brad Jones as executive director. In this new role, Jones will oversee the organization and its promotion of the city’s growing travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
He will work closely with senior staff at Meydenbauer Center and Visit Bellevue to accelerate the organization’s mission of stimulating economic growth by attracting visitors, large-group business, conventions and new attractions to the city.
"I am very excited to join the Visit Bellevue team and look forward to building lasting and worthwhile partnerships and collaborations that will enable us to successfully grow and develop Bellevue as a destination," said Jones. “To fulfill Bellevue’s strategic priorities, the team will look to substantially grow our visitor economy by leveraging our sales and marketing initiatives while simultaneously positioning Bellevue with a new destination brand strategy and implementing our destination development plan."
Jones brings a rich 23-year history in destination marketing, travel, tourism and hospitality to his new position. For the past 13 years, he served as the executive director of Experience Rochester in Rochester, Minn., and prior to that, he spent 10 years with the Mackinaw Area Visitors Bureau in Michigan.
Outside of his executive hospitality positions, Jones has served on the boards of several civic and commerce boards. He was appointed to the Minnesota Tourism Council by Gov. Tim Pawlenty and recently reappointed by Gov. Mark Dayton. He was also the 2016 recipient of Minnesota’s Outstanding Individual in Tourism.
