SmithBucklin EVP Carol McGury to Chair PCMA Education Foundation Board

Carol McGury, executive vice president, event and education services for association services company SmithBucklin, has been elected as chair of the PCMA Education Foundation’s Board of Trustees, which governs the organization.

McGury will assume the role following PCMA’s Convening Leaders meeting January 6-9, 2019, in Pittsburgh. She will replace Maritz Global Events President David Peckinpaugh.

The PCMA Education Foundation supports PCMA’s mission through scholarships, research, education and projects, and funds 75 scholarships for emerging leaders, students, faculty and other professionals, according to PCMA. The foundation also awards grants to fund research in the events industry.

McGury has been with SmithBucklin since 1988, overseeing the company’s convention, tradeshow and event management service offerings, according to the Chicago-based company.

McGury also serves the Marriott Hotel Advisory Board and is co-chair of INCON, an international partnership of association and event management companies.
