JW Marriott Hotel Opens in Northeast China

HEILONGJIANG, China

JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North opened. The property is the first for the brand in Northeast China and is located in the city’s business center, the Harbin Songbei district. The hotel's 345 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, offering views of the islands and rivers that run throughout the city.

"We are delighted to introduce JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North as the latest addition to our expanding luxury portfolio," said Mitzi Gaskin, vice president & global brand leader, JW Marriott. "The opening of JW Marriott Harbin represents a meaningful commitment to deliver enriching guest experiences with elevated culinary offerings, access to local culture and wellbeing at its 24-hour fitness center. Our passionate associates are also ambassadors of the JW Treatment – the brand's belief that true luxury comes from those to love what they do."

The property offers five distinctive culinary experiences. JW Marriott Café is an all-day dining venue that blends an international buffet experience with à-la-carte options. With seven private rooms, Long Yuan Chinese Restaurant showcases a wide range of Chinese regional cuisines and boasts outstanding views of the Songhua river. Offering a convivial ambiance with live music, The Brewery features a variety of local craft beers. The Lounge serves up light bites, authentic Chinese afternoon tea and seasonal cocktails, while The Executive Lounge is situated on the 27th floor.

Spanning two floors and 23,000 square feet, the hotel’s meeting and event space is completely customizable based on the type of event. The hotel's two large ballrooms create an open-concept space, accommodating up to 400 people seated or more than 700 for a reception. The second ballroom features a state-of-the-art rising platform designed to seamlessly transport vehicles inside. There is also a large lawn space for outdoor functions.

Additional hotel highlights include an indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center.

"We are thrilled to officially introduce the first property of JW Marriott brand to this vibrant city and look forward to offering guests an authentic experience both befitting of the city and true to the JW Marriott legacy,” said Brandon Chee, hotel manager of JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North.
