Taco Bell announced it will operate The Bell: A Taco Bell Hotel and Resort in Palm Springs, California, for a limited time as part of a campaign targeting its superfans.
No word yet on meeting space, but planners with conventions or other events in the desert oasis during that time can certainly book attendees at The Bell and maybe even get a room block—particularly if they're superfans.
The Mexican-style fast-food restaurant will welcome guests to The Bell: A Taco Bell Hotel and Resort beginning August 6, 2019, for five days. Reservations can be made starting in June.
Taco Bell described its entry into the Palm Springs hospitality scene as the “flavor-filled getaway of 2019” that will be “infused with a Taco Bell twist,” from guest rooms to breakfast and poolside cocktail options.
Taco Bell said it will announce the name of the existing resort it is taking over at a later time.
“The Bell stands to be the biggest expression of the Taco Bell lifestyle to date. It will be fun, colorful, flavorful and filled with more than what our fans might expect,” said Taco Bell Chief Global Brand Officer Marisa Thalberg in a statement.
“Also, just like some of our most sought-after food innovation, this hotel brings something entirely new for lucky fans to experience and enjoy," she added.
The Southern California-based fast-food restaurant chain said the Taco Bell experience will be fully wrapped in with the entire guest experience, from check-in to check-out.
Brand flourishes at the hotel include:
- “Bell” hops delivering food and beverages
- Fire sauce packet floaties
- A gift shop with Taco Bell apparel

Other Taco Bell-fueled amenities will include a gift shop, an onsite salon offering Taco Bell-inspired nail art, fades and a braid bar, and special menu items only available at the hotel.
At publication time, it remained unknown whether a drive-through banquet option will be available, but we can only imagine that the catering team will be on point.
In promoting The Bell, Taco Bell singled out Palm Springs--a popular meetings and incentives destination--as the ideal location for its pop-up property, and kept the door open for other destinations to host the novel hospitality-fast-food mashup in the future.
"Iconic Palm Springs was chosen as the perfect destination for Taco Bell’s first-ever hotel," a statement from Taco Bell released by the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau read. "There’s always the possibility the brand recreates this summer's tacoasis in new places so even more fans can experience the magic of The Bell."
Taco Bell is no stranger to over-the-top marketing stunts.
The company famously launched a Forever 21 fashion line.
