Deb Gee’s 4 Daily Self-Care Rituals for Summer

With summer and all the joyful activities it brings, it’s easy to jump into the happiness of the season yet forget to focus on self-care.

“Daily rituals are so important because they connect us to ourselves and help us assess what we really need,” said Deb Gee, experiential design lead with Lululemon. “Summer is a great midpoint of the year to get centered, check in with ourselves and live with intention.”

Gee suggested the following daily summer self-care rituals.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Start your day with a big glass of room-temperature water with lemon or melon—something colorful to remind you to drink—and continue drinking water throughout the day.

2. Get outside, take your shoes off and connect with the Earth.

Breathe deeply and take it all in. Even if it’s just 10 long, slow breaths, take the time to immerse yourself in the beauty of summer.

3. Nurture your skin and protect it from the sun.

It’s so important to your health.

Take care of your skin through moisturizing and invest in a great sunscreen.

4. Journal.

Summer is a half-way mark in the year, and it’s a good time to check in with your progress.

Write goals down. Reflect on them and revisit them.
