IAEE is naming its inaugural Expo! Expo! 5k run in honor of the late Terence Donnelly, a fixture in the exhibitions industry who passed away in July 2019.
The Terence Donnelly Memorial 5K Run and One-Mile Walk will take place during the annual meeting and exhibition on Wednesday, December 4, at 6:30 a.m.
Donnelly, a beloved member of the Experient and IAEE family, passed away on July 20, 2019.
"We are honored to host this 5K Run and Walk in memory of Terence," said IAEE President and CEO David DuBois. "Terence positively touched so many people in this industry and truly embodied what it meant to be part of a community."

According to those that knew Terence—affectionately known as "T-Dawg"—he had a passion for the tradeshow industry and was a mentor and friend to many in the IAEE community and exhibitions industry.
"Personally and professionally, Terence was an amazing person," said Jamie Murdock, vice president of sales for Experient. "His passion for life, his family and his career was infectious. His impact on the tradeshow industry was incredible, and he will be missed by so many."
The registration fee is $30, and all proceeds will be donated to the CEIR Foundation, which helps people pursue successful careers in the exhibitions industry. Each participant will receive a commemorative "T-Dawg" t-shirt.

“Sponsoring a special event like this in Terence's memory is the least we can do," said Jeff Fugate, senior vice president of Experient. "His efforts had a significant impact on our company and the industry. We will miss his contagious smile, but through events like this one, we will always have him in our hearts and minds.
Running and walking races, step competitions, meditation and yoga offerings now seem the norm at conferences and exhibitions. These wellness options onsite, or as an options activity before or after a day of meetings, can keep attendees more engaged and aware as well as add to the overall success of the program.
