Hyatt Regency Maui Resort Undergoes Renovation

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation to its guest rooms.

The revamped accommodations will feature authentic Hawaiian touches with a modern twist that will allow guests to connect with Maui’s vibrant culture.

The property is on 40 acres along Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina and the redesign is inspired by the heritage and authentic spirit of this location.

The renovations began in fall 2019 and are expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

The renovation, led by Wimberly Interiors, will incorporate elegant, casual textiles and contemporary lines that come together for a sleek look.

Drawing inspiration from the resort’s location, the rooms will feature various elements such as open closets to make the room feel more spacious; glass lanai balconies that will help bring the outside in and make the space brighter; and elevated furnishings.

“We are thrilled to announce a multimillion-dollar renovation to all of our existing guest rooms, which will enhance the guest experience,” said Fred Findlen, general manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.

“The resort’s location has a rich history and strong culture that will be prominently reflected in the new design and layout of our guestrooms. We are excited to embark on this journey with Wimberly Interiors who are essential in bringing our vision to life.”

Hyatt Regency Maui will also implement a variety of energy saving aspects in order to continue to increase its sustainability practices including retrofitting of its air conditioning systems.

Additionally, the property will add four new guest rooms, bringing the total number of rooms from 806 to 810.

During the renovation period, Hyatt Regency Maui will also upgrade its technology by implementing a new system allowing guests to receive their room keys on their mobile devices.

The renovated guest rooms will add to the meeting and incentive experiences at the resort. The property features 100,000 square feet of function areas that are ideal for any type of event ranging from beachfront venues and terraces to sleek boardrooms with ocean views.

The 18,375-square-foot Monarchy Ballroom can accommodate 1,500 guests or can be divided into seven separate spaces.

The resort is also home to eight dining and beverage outlets, including Japengo, serving Asian cuisine infused with island flavors along with beachfront views; an oceanfront full-service spa and salon; and six pool areas.
