Turtle Bay Resort Taps Donovan as GM During Large Renovation

Benchmark Hospitality named Tom Donovan vice president and general manager of its Turtle Bay Resort, located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

Donovan brings more than 25 years of hospitality industry leadership experience to the position, having most recently served as managing director of Southern California’s The Resort at Pelican Hill. He has also served as managing director at Grand Wailea Maui, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, and as vice president and general manager for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kapalua.

Donovan takes over as Turtle Bay Resort is undergoing a large-scale renovation that is scheduled to be completed by summer 2020. The completion of the renovation will coincide with the launch of new nature-oriented biocentric programming for guests and the local community.

The 410-room Turtle Bay Resort spans nearly 1,300 acres on five miles of coastline on the northern tip of Oahu and offers an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, four swimming pools, seven beaches, two 18-hole championship golf courses, a surf school and 12 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, among other features.
