Aloft Tulum, a new boho-chic inspired hotel managed by Highgate Hotels, opened its doors in February nearby Tulum’s downtown district and white-sand beaches. The four-floor property features 140 loft-style guest rooms and suites, a variety of lively spaces for socialization and music, and the destination’s only venue for corporate meetings.
Aloft Tulum is Marriott International’s first property to debut in Tulum, Quintana Roo. For mingling, Aloft Tulum offers several spaces including its Ático Rooftop Bar & Lounge. At this hangout spot, guests can take a dip in the infinity pool, experience local cuisine and sip on seasonal cocktails—all while enjoying city views.
Additionally, Aloft Tulum can accommodate business meetings and events with its three multi-functional meeting conference spaces, totaling 2,761 square feet. Meeting rooms can accommodate up to 240 people and are equipped with the latest technology and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Tennessee
Situated on the corner of Memphis’ famed Beale Street and Front Street, the new Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis is slated to open its doors in March 2021 as part of the One Beale mixed-used development currently underway. Reservations for the 227-room, pet-friendly hotel are available for stays starting April 15, 2021.
Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis will boast approximately 9,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space created through the conversion of the historic William C. Ellis and Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop, originally constructed in 1879. The meeting space will be able to accommodate up to 450 attendees for meetings and up to 500 for receptions and social events. This will be complemented by a dedicated Event Lawn, offering 3,500 square feet of outdoor space overlooking the Mississippi River and pool deck.
The new hotel will be home to the only resort-style pool experience in the downtown area with an expansive sun deck, private poolside cabanas, dining options and entertainment to keep with the hotel’s overall music-inspired theme.
Texas
Hyatt Regency Houston, a premiere downtown hotel for meetings and events, has unveiled a multi-million-dollar renovation project. Updates include a complete transformation of the property’s 955 guestrooms, meeting rooms, food and beverage outlets, and public spaces. The renovation is announced under the leadership of the hotel’s new managing director, John Schafer.
Hyatt Regency Houston refreshed its meeting spaces with new technology features including increased broadband capacities to assist with hybrid meeting functionality. Each of the meeting spaces was also outfitted with new carpeting, wall vinyl and modern LED light fixtures.
Located downtown near the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hyatt Regency Houston features 71,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 16,000-square-foot Imperial Ballroom which can be divided into two or three separate areas. The hotel also provides a 28,000 square foot exhibit hall, multiple mid-sized and junior ballrooms, and 13 individual conference rooms and boardrooms.

JW Marriott officially opened its 100th property, JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, bringing a holistic approach to wellbeing and luxury hospitality to the Tampa Bay area. Located in the heart of the dynamic Water Street neighborhood, the 519-room property will have a formal grand opening celebration expected to take place in April 2021.
"The first JW Marriott opened in Washington DC in 1984 and was a tribute to my father, J.W., and a celebration of his love of service and hospitality," explained Bill Marriott, Executive Chairman of the Board at Marriott International, in a press release. "That tribute has now evolved into a global hotel brand, an incredible testament to the spirit of that first hotel being embraced worldwide.”
Located next door to both the Tampa Convention Center and Amalie Arena, the hotel features 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Tampa Bay at approximately 30,000 square feet.
In combination with its sister property, Tampa Marriott Water Street, the complex boasts over 40,000 square feet of additional total event space, with both properties connected by a glass sky bridge located on the third floor.
