Pendry Hotels and Resorts has appointed and promoted David Duran as general manager. Duran brings more than a decade of luxury hospitality experience to his new role. As general manager, Duran will oversee daily operations of the award-winning, 317 room hotel property, located in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
Duran joined Pendry Hotels and Resorts in 2019 as director of operations, in which he played a significant role in overseeing the rooms division and the hotel’s numerous outlets, including the collection of six unique restaurants and bars. He also served on multiple opening task force teams in order to develop and implement processes and brand standards for new Pendry openings.
Prior to his time at Pendry, Duran served as director of food and beverage at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and the Bellagio Resort and Casino. In 2017, he moved to San Diego and took a position as vice president of food, beverage and retail at Viejas Resort and Casino in Alpine, California.
“David’s expertise, natural leadership and steadfast determination have been on continued display at Pendry San Diego and incredibly integral to the growth and success of the property,” said Jason Herthel, president and chief operating officer of Montage International. “We are so honored to have David in the Pendry family and to now lead the talented team at Pendry San Diego as general manager.”
In addition, Duran is also a member of San Diego County Lodging Association and Downtown San Diego Partnership, AHLA.
