JW Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, made its debut in Spain with the opening of JW Marriott Hotel Madrid next to the iconic Puerta del Sol in the heart of the city. The hotel puts guests in the middle of many prestigious art institutions and theaters and surrounds them in local culture.
The building now housing JW Marriott Hotel Madrid was previously one of the oldest perfumeries in the city, with architecture and design aimed at capturing the essence of Madrid and touching on the building’s historic past through the preservation of elements like wrought-iron columns from the 19th century.
The hotel partnered with the Spanish Academy of Perfume to pay homage to the building’s heritage and city’s past by creating a fully holistic wellness experience stimulating the senses, starting with welcoming every guest with a traditional violet- or rosemary-scented tea in an artisanal ceramic cup.
The 139-room hotel offers one 538-square-foot meeting room for smaller groups of up to 12 as well as the gastronomic restaurant Qú by Mario Sandoval, offering Spanish haute cuisine, suitable for smaller social gatherings.
