Kansas
Managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts—operating more than 120 hotels and resorts in the U.S. and Canada—Courtyard Wichita at Old Town in Wichita, Kansas, announced the completion of its extensive renovation project. The property hopes to welcome a new era of elevated hospitality to the heart of historic Old Town district through a refined ambiance paying tribute to the history of Wichita’s railroad and aviation heritage.
Courtyard Wichita at Old Town now features 129 redesigned guest rooms with new furniture and design elements, and some also include refreshed bathrooms. Public spaces have also been upgraded, including the hotel’s 7,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. The hotel’s Santa Fe Ballroom measures just over 3,700 square feet and can accommodate 160 guests banquet-style or 300 for a reception, while the Courtyard Cafe/Waterfall Atrium spans 2,500 square feet and can host 112 guests for a banquet or up to 150 for a standing reception.
Courtyard Wichita at Old Town also unveiled its new Rock Island Suite—named in honor of Wichita’s railroad history and historic district. The space features a parlor and serves as a multipurpose premium guest suite designed for special occasions and gatherings.

Michigan
DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing opened its doors in early September in Michigan’s capital city. The 256-room hotel was acquired by Waramaug Hospitality in 2021 and underwent a complete renovation of all guest rooms and corridors, the lobby, the hotel’s restaurants and bar, meeting rooms and prefunction spaces.
DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing gives guests access to a fitness center, two-story indoor pool and onsite dining options and puts them in close proximity to some of Lansing’s top attractions like Impression 5 Science Center, R.E. Olds Transportation Museum and Michigan History Center. Michigan State University is just four miles away from the property.
DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing offers more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space including the 6,900-square-foot Capitol Ballroom, with a capacity of 400 banquet-style or 700 for a reception. The hotel is also directly connected to Lansing Center, the city’s 125,000-square-foot convention center.

Minnesota
Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis, the 222-room property situated on the site of the legendary Nicollet Hotel two blocks from the Mississippi River, announced it will kick off its five-month winter celebration with the expansion of its Nordic Village.
Nordic Village is a collection of eight cedar cabins spanning Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis’ Riva Terrace and Riva Plaza—five cabins seat up to four guests, while the remaining three cabins can seat up to eight.
The cabins were designed and decorated by internationally recognized boutique MartinPatrick3, known for building one-of-a-kind experiences, and feature skylights, personalized Spotify accounts and TVs, insulation and heating. Each cabin will also bear a unique name inspired by “The Star of the North,” the motto of Minnesota.
Nordic Village will be open for dinners, private events and buyouts Wednesdays through Sundays from November 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024. This year’s four-course menu will feature onion soup, cheese fondue and Minnesota-shaped s’mores, with pricing starting at $165 per person.
Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis also features 20,000 square feet of event space, including the nearly 6,500-square-foot Mill City Ballroom.
Missouri
Cascade Hotel, Kansas City, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is set to open before the end of the year in Country Club Plaza, the city’s retail, dining and entertainment destination characterized by its 15 city blocks of Spanish-inspired architecture and dozens of fountains.
Cascade Hotel, Kansas City is the second property in a $105 million two-hotel development, which brought Aloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza in early 2023. The new Hilton property soars 10 stories high and will bring another 177 guest rooms to Kansas City.
Upon completion, Cascade Hotel, Kansas City will offer nearly 15,000 square feet of event space across 10 event rooms and five breakout rooms. The nearly 5,000-square-foot Seville Light Ballroom has a capacity of 300 for a seated banquet or 450 for a reception.
