England - An Iconic Building Restored

The OWO
The OWO

For the first time since its construction in 1906, Britain’s iconic Old War Office will open its doors to the public as The OWO, a new destination featuring restaurants, bars and 120 guest rooms and suites. Raffles London at The OWO marks the first U.K. location for Raffles Hotels & Resorts and will also offer signature dining experiences by chef Mauro Colagreco and an extensive spa in partnership with Guerlain and Pillar.

Over the past eight years, the Old War Office has been thoughtfully restored to its former glory by the family-run Hinduja Group. The hotel and its 120 rooms and suites were the vision of famed designer, the late Thierry Despont, who transformed landmark buildings such as the Statue of Liberty. From hand-laid mosaic floors to oak paneling and a two-story marble staircase and chandelier, extensive care has been taken to preserve the Old War Office’s fascinating history, while also providing a welcoming atmosphere to guests.

The Raffles London at The OWO will feature a variety of historic meeting and event spaces including the Whitehall Ballroom, able to hold up to 600 attendees and extensive prefunction and meeting spaces, named Morse and Code respectively. The OWO also offers a variety of restaurants and dining options including Café Lapérouse, Paper Moon, Langosteria and a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views across St. James’s Park, The Mall and Buckingham Palace.
