Hilton announced the opening of the 976-room Signia by Hilton Atlanta hotel, the first Signia by Hilton property in the state of Georgia and the flagship property for the brand. The hotel will also serve as a headquarters hotel for the Georgia World Congress Center and is Atlanta’s largest hotel development in 40 years.

Meetings Today had the opportunity to participate in a hard-hat tour of the development back in August ahead of ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition. The property is part of Hilton’s long-term plan in Atlanta, with over 40 Hiton hotels in various stages of design and construction set to open in Georgia’s capital city.

Signia by Hilton Atlanta is part of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) and joins the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Centennial Olympic Park to form the Championship Campus, the largest combination of convention, sports and entertainment venues in North America. The hotel, considered the flagship property of the brand launched in 2019, is also connected to the Georgia World Congress Center via a pedestrian walkway.

“The opening of Signia by Hilton Atlanta furthers our position as one of the top meetings and conventions destinations in the country,” said William Pate, president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The new convention center headquarter hotel allows us to meet our customers’ growing needs, bringing additional visitors to the city.”

The hotel features eight food and beverage experiences, a spa, beauty bar, rooftop pool and a fitness center. The property also boasts over 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Georgia, the 40,000-square-foot Triumph Ballroom. The hotel also offers three additional boardrooms each with views of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Meeting planners will also have access to over 30,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space, including an event deck and event lawn.

"Signia by Hilton Atlanta complements our vision for a compact and connected campus featuring a package of facilities unrivaled in any city in the United States," said Frank Poe, executive director of GWCCA. "More importantly, it is a cornerstone of a strategy centered on aligning GWCCA with the evolving needs of its customers while putting Atlanta on the shortlist for the most prestigious live events the industry has to offer.”
