The Newest Hotel Openings and Renovations Across Florida and Georgia

The largest hotel in the Bradenton Area and overlooking the Manatee River, the Palmetto Marriott Resort & Spa recently opened. The property is connected to the Bradenton Area Convention Center, which is currently undergoing a $48 million renovation and expansion set to be completed in 2025. The property features 252 guest rooms and a variety of amenities including four dining options, two resort pools, one lap pool, two fitness centers and a full-service luxury spa. 

Palmetto Marriott Resort & Spa features nearly 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space spread across eight venues and will include an additional 45,000-square-foot outdoor lawn and amphitheater. The largest of these venues is the West Coast Ballroom, able to accommodate up to 900 attendees. Once completed, the resort and convention center will have a combined total of 140,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. 

Located in downtown Miami and close to popular attractions such as the Kaseya Center, Port of Miami and also nearby the new Brightline station, Gale Miami recently announced its grand opening and addition of new meeting and event spaces. On the eighth floor of the hotel sits the Gale Miami Conference Center, with over 12,000 square feet of space spread across multiple conference rooms, breakout rooms and a grand ballroom. The property also features three other floors entirely designated for exhibition space, each with a floor plate of 40,000 square feet.

The conference center also offers personalized catering services and a wellness program with amenities such as a Turkish bath, fitness facility, yoga lounge, spa services, steam room and sauna. The property also features 9,000 square feet of restaurant space on its ground floor, with two additional dining options on the ninth floor.

Orlando’s Newest Development

Located on an eight-acre site in downtown Orlando is the city’s newest sports and entertainment district, Westcourt. The 900,000-square-foot development will sit next to Orlando’s Kia Center and feature 270 high-rise residences; 300,000 square feet of office space; a 260-room full-service hotel; and 120,000 square feet of entertainment, dining and retail outlets.

The hotel will feature an outdoor lounge, pool deck, marquee restaurant and 16,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space. The development will also include a 3,500-capacity live events venue that will not only host concerts and other live performances, but will also be available for private events such as galas, banquets and more. 

“We view Westcourt as the next step in downtown Orlando’s evolution and growth as a true urban neighborhood,” said David Carlock, founder and principal of Machete Group, one of the organizations behind the development. “We are dedicated to creating a vibrant destination that will be an exciting place to visit, live and work.”

Construction on the project is expected to begin late this year and will be completed in late 2026 through early 2027.

Georgia

Located in the heart of Atlanta’s business and shopping district, the Grand Hyatt Atlanta In Buckhead recently announced a multi-phased renovation project set to be completed in early 2025. The renovations will enhance many aspects of the 25-story property, including the guest rooms, lobby lounge and meeting and event spaces.

The planned renovations will include a transformation of the hotel’s eight event spaces, which include the 9,700-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the 3,066-square-foot Buckhead Ballroom, the 3,650-square-foot Highland Ballroom and other venues throughout the property. The Grand Hyatt Atlanta also has a number of services designed to support meeting and event planners, including full-service catering, audiovisual support, destination management and more.

Located near The Battery and Truist Park, Marriott’s Sheraton Suites Galleria Atlanta recently completed its $12 million renovation project. The guest rooms now feature new carpeting, beds, bedding, furniture, artwork and upgraded bathrooms.

The Sheraton Suites Galleria Atlanta also has 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space spread across five event rooms, including the 2,046-square-foot Cumberland Ballroom, able to accommodate up to 175 attendees in its largest configuration. The property also has multiple prefunction spaces, including the Prefunction Cumberland Ballroom, able to accommodate up to 210 attendees, and the Prefunction Galleria room, able to accommodate up to 40. 

To celebrate the completion of the renovations, the hotel is also offering a special “Celebration Rate” promotion of 10% off rates with the corporate code “LPR”.
