Didier Scaillet

Former SITE CEO Didier Scaillet passed away July 9 following a hospital stay, according to an announcement from SITE.

A business events industry stalwart, Scaillet served as CEO of SITE and SITE Foundation from January 2018 until he stepped down for health reasons in September 2020. His 25-year experience in association management also included roles with AMC Institute, MPI and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

“Didier served as SITE’s and SITE Foundation’s CEO for almost three years, following impactful terms with MPI and CLIA," said Annette Gregg, CEO of SITE and SITE Foundation. "He was a business event guy to his core, utterly convinced of the immense value of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions for individuals, companies, communities and society as a whole. A gifted strategist, Didier never overlooked the simple, awesome power of human connections. The avalanche of tributes posted on-line from all over the world is testament to his legacy as a brilliant, kind and generous individual. May he rest in peace.”

Scaillet is survived by his wife Sabine and his children, Martin, Morgane and Giles. A memorial service will take place, following cremation, July 16 at 10 a.m. CEST at Daelhof à Zemst in Zemst, Belgium, near Scaillet’s home in Dilbeek just outside of Brussels.
