Following a nationwide search, Visit Seattle announced the appointment of veteran Seattle marketing executive Stephanie Byington as its next senior vice president (SVP) and chief marketing officer (CMO).
In her new role at Visit Seattle, Byington will oversee all marketing and brand development initiatives for Visit Seattle to promote tourism and travel to the destination.
Byington has worked for several Seattle-area brands including Slalom Consulting, Nordstrom and Starbucks and also has experience in the travel and tourism space, having previously served as VP of marketing and product development at tour operator TCS World Travel as well as director of global advertising and sponsorships for Continental Airlines.
“We searched far and wide for the best candidate for the CMO position and found it right in our backyard with Stephanie,” said Visit Seattle CEO Tammy Blount-Canavan. “She has spent years honing her skills at some of the biggest brands that call our great city home. We’re looking forward to seeing Stephanie put her magic to work for us.”
