Cambridge, Massachusetts is a place brimming with history, intellect and youthful energy–ideal ingredients for a corporate meeting. Fortunately, harnessing its magic is easy, sitting just a bridge away from downtown Boston.
But when you step into Cambridge’s boundary, the walkable, neighborhood feel is immediate.
“It’s a very safe city,” said Executive Director Robyn Culbertson. “I just love it. It’s quirky, it’s fun, it’s unique. And our proximity [to Boston] gives us a huge advantage, as well.”
Cambridge is also famous for its knowledge centers, and rightly so. It’s home to both Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), two of the most renowned higher education institutions in the country if not the world. Intellectual capital spurring from the campuses is a huge draw for groups, as well is the burgeoning biotech and life sciences industries, with major players like Moderna headquartered in Cambridge.
In fact, Cambridge’s Kendall Square is quickly becoming known as one of the most innovative square miles on the planet. The area is peppered with MIT buildings, biotech companies and thus has also experienced growth in its restaurant and shopping offerings, making it one of the liveliest hubs in the Cambridge area. Hotels are anchored in Kendall Square, too, giving visiting groups immediate access to all the neighborhood has to offer.
Cambridge offers 3,700-plus hotel rooms—the region’s largest hotel inventory outside Boston—offering nearly 100,000 square feet of meeting space, additional unique venues offering even more meeting and event options, and more than 325 restaurants. And it’s all less than eight miles from Boston Logan International Airport, making access a true selling point for group business.
Cambridge Office for Tourism and Meet Boston have also teamed up to entice groups with an incentive offer: Book new group business at a participating Cambridge hotel (November 18, 2024-April 17, 2025; November 17, 2025-April 15, 2026; or November 21, 2026-March 31, 2027) and receive a 10% rebate to your master bill on all guest room, banquet food and beverage and meeting room rental revenue. A minimum of 10 rooms on peak required.
